Thanks for the support! Our blog is devoted to the good food revolution, and the revolution of consciousness is an integral part of that movement. It is not only what people eat that needs to change; it is the entire relationship people have with their food and the planet that provides it for them. I think this book does a great job of demonstrating, not only that the way we are currently living is unsustainable, but that another way of life is actually possible.
I agree with you. We cannot raise to a higher level of consciousness and continue to eat the processed foods that are slowly killing us. I applaud your efforts.
We need to get back to our roots somehow. Just today I was leafing through the local coupon flyer from Sunday’s paper. All of the food coupons were for processed foods! I never see a coupon for apples or broccoli!
But as you say, we need to change our entire relationship with food. A relationship that has been nicely cultivated our entire lives. Not an easy task to change and it won’t happen overnight, but I think we (as a society) are realizing we need to change which will make it much easier.
I happy that you posted. Thanks for visiting!
I am increasingly aware that our
mind and body need to be in harmony to find the joy that we all seek. If we put junk in our body than our body is in turmoil and then trying to get our heads screwed
on right becomes a challenge.
I think that our politicians have sold us out. They all start off well meaning but then they get caught up in trying to get. Their agenda passed at all costs and have to compomise. They have aligned themselves with insurance companies who prosper from our illness. A girl who works for me has no insurance. I am a very small company and also have no insurance now. She needs a brain tumor removed which will start to cause her to loose function. It will cost about 70000.
I started talking with her about her diet which I can see by watching her is terrible. I asked her what types of fruits and vegatables is she eating. She hasn’t had fruit in months! She says it is too expensive.
Kids are fed hot dogs in day care because it meets the guidelines but is the worst food to give kids.
I think the powers that be are fighting to keep us eating the way we are with megar attempts at looking like they care.
Great points…but so sad. Money is truly the root of all evil. Perhaps in our new conscious world, there will be no money and no greed.
I like to watch the food channel where they visit the remote places. Most of them get all their foods within a few miles of their homes.
No added junk.
How great would that be!
Of course, if it involved me having to killing the chickens (or anything else), I would be a vegan for sure!
